What is ASTIVIAN?
Astivian is a semasiographic writing system first developed by the Ch’k li’ak centuries ago in order to aid the intuitive art of superluminal navigation. Each symbol represents a unique number.
Superluminal navigators study the symbols until they unlock an almost psychic understanding of the inner quantum structure of wormholes, predicting how they will fold and undulate split-seconds ahead of time. The fast-paced skill of navigation requires the instant understanding of each symbol so that navigation suggestions can be intuitively selected. Poor choices result in damage or destruction. Thus, top-notch navigators are in high demand. They use games like this one to train.
Can you figure out the Astivian system of numbers? If you can figure out what the Astivian symbols mean and can solve a cipher provided to subscribers of The Cthonic Underground newsletter, the cipher will provide the password to a special page with another (this time, playable) Astivian game on it as a reward.
